La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo Review

After having a troublesome time with those pesky spots I decided to give the Effeclar Duo a go after hearing many rave reviews about it. From what I had heard I was quite honestly, deep down, expecting it to totally clear up my skin. My hopes for the product where that it would reduce my painful breakouts, clear my redness and reduce my acne scaring.

I purchased the product at Boots for £15.50, which I felt was the tiniest bit pricey but not crazy. The product seemed to last about three to four months I would say. The product its self was a light moisturiser-like formula that left a sort of matte finish to the face. I would class this as a treatment product therefore and wouldn't use it in place of a moisturiser It absorbed well, did not leave my face feeling greasy or cause me any problems in terms of breakouts or sensitive skin.

After the first couple of weeks using it I was amazed. During the first few times I used it, it seemed excellent at reducing my redness and over the weeks I noticed that it was really bringing my spots out and clearing them up.

Overall this porduct definitely helped to tone down my painful blemishes and redness however after about a month I seem to geeet bored of the product. Although it did my skin good I feel this product only worked to an extent and it reached a point where it didn't seem to be doing much more for my skin. Some noticable red spots and scaring still remained and I was still getting the occasional breakout.

After using this product I must say I am quite "on the fence" about it. At first it seemed like a miracle, wonder product and then my skin seemed to get used to it and it didn't do anything more for me. My acne is a lot better now than it used to be however my red spots are the main problem and are quite prominent without makeup on. Consodering this and my time using this product I really would like to give it another go and see if it will work better with my skin no my acne has cleared a little more.

Have you tried the Effaclar Duo and if so what did you think of it?
