Fresh Spring Nail Looks

Splendid Spring hello's lovelies! Pondering on my suspicion that I haven't posted many nail related posts or look books on here before I am rather excited to present to you a little plethora of Spring nail designs and looks. One colour swiped onto the nail is certainly the easier option and also very classy and pretty however sometimes its nice to spice things up a little in the nail department and have a little experiment. Please be assured that I am the worst personal nail painter there could probably be so any of these looks should be easily achievable if I can just about wobble them together. I hope you enjoy the post and please let me know and show me if you have a go at any of these nails design too. Below I will list the products used and some brief step-by-step instructions to creating the looks.

Top Tips! (Mistakes I Made)

• Cut and file your nails to your desired shape before applying polish. 
• Swipe your nails with nail polish remover or nail dehydrator to dehydrate the nails to help the polish cling on for all its might.
• Apply in the thinnest layers possible and wait until every layer is completely dry before applying the next. This prevents the dreaded smudging.
• Use a fast drying top coat to help speed up the tedious high-smudge-risk period.
• Don't worry if they don't look perfect. Remember, I always ruin and have to re-do at least one nail when I'm doing my nails and I can never keep the polish within the lines of my cuticles. I promise you are doing a better job than I ever could!
• And finally. Practice makes perfect! (I'm still practising).

Nail look 1: Classic Baby Pink Nails

• Base colour - Barry M, 309 Strawberry
• Top coat - Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Chip-Resistant Top Coat

Apply one thin coat, from the middle, swooped out to each edge of the nail. Allow to dry completely and then apply a second and final thin coat all over. If using a drying top coat, wait roughly two minutes and then apply a generous layer of your instant drying polish. If using an ordinary top coat, wait till nails are completely dry and then apply a light layer of the top coat.

Nail look 2: Tulip Nails

• Base coat - M&S Autograph, Pink
• Tulip leaves - Barry M, 304 Mint Green
• Top coat - Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Chip Resistant Top Coat

Apply one thin layer of the pink shade to the nails. Allow to dry completely and then apply a second thin coat of the pink shade all over the nail again. Allow to dry completely again. Apply one light swoop of green polish in a curved shape, from the base of the nail, about 3/4 of the way up the nail, to create the leaf. Aim to leave a curvy triangular section of pink polish visible at the middle tip of the nail. Wait two minutes and apply your instant dry top coat or wait till completely dry and apply your normal top coat.

Nail look 3: Spring Golden Sparkles Nails

• Base coat - Barry M, 437 Caspian
• Thumb nail sparkle coat - Nails Inc, Chelsea Embankment
• Top coat - Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Chip Resistant Top Coat

Apply a thin layer of the gold shimmer colour over all nails. Allow to dry completely and only apply a second thin coat to all but the thumb nail. Apply a slightly (ever so slightly) thicker second layer of the gold sparkle polish to the thumb nail. Before the nails dry completely, add a gold nail sticker accent to the tip of each ring finger nail and apply either your instant dry top coat after two minutes of air drying or wait until completely dry and apply your normal top coat.

Nail look 4: Daisy Nails

• Base coat for finger nails - Models Own, Lemon Meringue
• Daisy dot - Models Own, Lemon Meringue
• Daisy petals - Debenhams Love & Co, white polish
• Top coat - Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Chip Resistant Top Coat

Apply a thin layer of the yellow shade to all your finger nails and, with the very tip of the brush, a tiny dot to the centre of the thumb nail. Again using the tip of the brush, apply six petals around the yellow dot on the thumb with a dot and swipe outward motion. Swipe gently and quickly. Allow daisy on thumb nail to dry for 30 seconds and apply your instant dry top coat or wait until completely dry and apply your normal top coat. When the finger nails are completely dry, apply a second and final thin layer of the yellow shade and either allow to dry for two minutes and apply your instant dry polish or allow to dry completely and apply your usual top coat.

Nail look 5: Classy Mint Nails

• Base coat - Barry M, 304 Mint Green
• Gold tip - No7 Stay Perfect Nail Colour, I'm Exquisite
• Top Coat - Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Chip Resistant Top Coat

Apply a thin layer of the mint green polish to all nails, allow to dry completely and then apply a second and final thin layer of the mint green polish. Once completely dry, carefully apply tiny upward swipes of the gold polish on the tips of the nails. Either allow to dry for two minutes and apply your instant dry top coat or wait until completely dry and apply your usual top coat.
