Drugstore Velvet Teddy Dupe

Hello lovelies! Today I am going to be talking about two of my favourite things: my MAC Velvet Teddy lipstick and bargain buys! After swooning over Velvet Teddy and dreamily placing it on every wish list possible I was a very lucky girl to receive my special Velvet Teddy last Christmas. It is a staple in my makeup collection as it would be in anyone else's and that is why I was so amaze balls happy when I found a near perfect dupe for this beauty!

For those of you who don't want to be forking out £15.50 for a lippy I present to you Boots' Natural Collection lipstick in the shade Biscuit. Biscuit is the swatch on the right so as you can see it is ever, ever so slightly warmer in tone than Velvet Teddy. It also has more of a satin/ sheen finish on this lips however it is unmistakably similar to the classic VT shade.

In terms of longevity VT really does it for me as it can last up to 5 hours on me whilst sipping my H2o throughout the day, still looking as though it has just been applied. However Biscuit only lasts about two and a half hours on me until it begins to fade away. Despite all this though, Biscuit only costs a mere £1.99! For that price I wouldn't even mind having to apply it once hourly!

Although VT doesn't have a drying effect on me, for some a matte formula can wreak havoc on their lips. This is where Biscuit has its time to shine. Because Biscuit isn't a matte formula (and nor super shiny for that matter) it is lovely and nourishing on the lips. Not necessarily intensive lip balm standards but moisturising and gentle.

For anyone out their on the hunt for a bargain price Velvet Teddy dupe I tell you, look no further! The Boots Natural Collection offering is a fabulous alternative to the classic VT that looks identical to Velvet Teddy on the lips. Happy shopping my lovelies!
