Cosy Christmas Day Outfit Ideas 2020

Well hello there festive friends! I can't believe this is my last blog post before Christmas Day 2020 and soon I'll be writing January blog posts! I thought it would be nice to share this little post of Christmas Day outfits ideas I had floating around in my head and share them for a nice little pre-Christmas day read, while we're all cosied up getting ready for the big day! I'm planning a bubble bath and some nail painting for my Christmas Eve pamper - I actually wrote about all the little beauty things I like to indulge in on Christmas Eve in my Festive Beauty Favourites | Blogger Babble Tag with Lorna Loves in my last post if you'd like to have a nosey at my pre-Christmas Day beauty festivities there. Despite all the strange-ities I'm, as usual, most beaming with excitement for the big day! Loved ones, gift giving, happy memories, festive traditions and of course, Christmas outfits! Because I always love outfit planning, whatever the occasion! In this little post idea I wanted to share some cosy yet festive and fun at home Christmas Day outfit ideas for 2020, pulling together some of my top trend picks of AW20/21 and perfectly cosy at home festive style. I sure never like to leave out the sparkle so of course I brought it here but this year I've added an extra touch of Christmas cosy in my Christmas Day outfit ideas for 2020.

What are your festive plans for for tomorrow? Are you dressing up or dressing down? Makeup or no makeup? What festivities do you have planned for the day? Have you already planned your Christmas look for 2020? I thought it would be fun to share some festive Christmas looks for 2020 as I for one am excited to just have fun and enjoying all the little things this year even more so, like dressing up!

When do I not enjoy dressing up!

Whether you're in need of some festive styling inspo for tomorrow or just looking for some extra Twixmas outfit ideas to celebrate this Christmas week in style scroll on for a cosy read and a little collection of some of my cosy Christmas Day Outifit Ideas for 2020.

Gingham

This is a dress I absolutely adore in my collection (though which do I not!) and I feel the envy of pretty wearing it. I thought this one would pair perfectly with a cosy roll neck to pull together a even more of a vintage look and embodying my most favourite trend of AW20/21, a touch of 1940s styling. I immediately pictured this pairing perfectly with a bright red lip and curls for a festive look for Christmas Day.

Metallics, Ruffles and Frills

Now these are three little micro trends for AW20/21 that I haven't seen an awful lot of nor have I worn an awful lot of this Autumn Winter but come Christmas how can you ever resist a bit of sparkle! - I can't on a daily basis! - Despite all the gloominess of the year, throughout, the idea of just sodding it and dressing up in you most all out glamorous outfit, even if your just sitting at home, is something I've found a really wonderful and fun idea and have really enjoyed doing throughout the year.

She says, currently sat in red velvet Santa dress and Christmas jumper...

I remember earlier in the year Lily Pebbles doing something along the lines of this for a charity idea, like dress up Friday (the actual name of it probably sounded much better than that) and encouraged her followers to join in and get dressed and glammed up whatever they might be up to, stuck at home for one day a week. Pulling on the metallics, ruffles and frills micro trend and also playing with the extravagant dress trend of AW20/21, I thought it would be fun to bring out a bit of sparkle in this Christmas Day outfit idea for 2020 with my rose gold sequin dress. To make it the ever so little be more sophisticated, a big trend for AW20/21 with dresses, and for extra cosiness, I paired in with a simple cream high neck jumper. Chic and toasty!

Classic Tartan and Collar Details

Next up for my ideas for Christmas looks this 2020 was inspired by classic Christmas and the massive big collar trend we've seen this Autumn Winter. My tartan dress comes with a big white collar and black bow but you could easily pair any tartan ensemble with a nice big detailed collared shirt underneath in my eyes. Paired with thick black tights and a toasty cream wooly cardigan is the best thing I could think to wrap myself up in this Christmas Day Outfit Idea for 2020, perfect for post Christmas dinner cosying up or a socially distanced Santa present stop (if you can). Again, I though paired with my plain, smart. black patent boots - as seen in my My Favourite Fall Winter 2020/21 Trends | What I'm Wearing post - it would add  the perfect mix of Channel sophistication, another undercurrent to the sophisticated dress trend of AW20/21. Likewise, paired with a big smart coat, like my beige camel coat, would be perfect for a Christmas Day walk and wonderfully incorporating the smart coat trend of the AW20/21 season.

Black.

Simply like a LBD. Black seems to have been such a concrete colour in so many outfits this Autmn Winter, to pull together both a mix of trends but where I've seen it a lot is tying together the air of sophistication and channel dressing and dress wear. For this look I wanted to embody exactly that and paired it with a smart plain white collared shirt, to incorporate the big collar statement trend too. Again I can imagine pairing this one with a pair of black tights but if your really brave and definitely not setting a foot out the door this Christmas I think it would style wonderfully with bare legs and simple black heels. Again, I adored the idea or pairing this with my smart camel coat for a Christmas look for 2020 perfect to quickly wrap up for the present run - to help Santa along the way of course!

Channel Sophisticated

As you'll notice this post has been very dress heavy but when is Christmas not the best time to wear your favourite party frock! Dresses seemed a dominant trend this Autumn Winter, trending though styled with uber Channel girl sophistication (if I could phrase it in one!). Pairing with the predicted velvet micro trend for AW20/21, although we don't seem to have seen much velvet around this Autumn Winter, I thought it'd be fun and cosy and a little bit sophisticated to pair my velvet playsuit with that same cream high neck jumper. Add black tights for warmth and a smart black heeled boot and I think your good to play in this one! Cosy and comfy yet chic and a lovely outfit idea to party at home in for New Years Eve too!

And there was just a sprinkle of thoughts I had floating in my brain for Christmas Day Outfit Ideas for 2020!
