Well hello all and when did we end up in August!? Okay, I hold my hands up, I know July has been and gone but due the unplanned circumstances of earlier this year the monthly favourites are a little behind but, alas, getting back on track. So with June having long gone, and July also having dashed by about the speed of light, I thought I better throw together everything I've practically been throwing on but yet loving in June!

Hold onto your hats, from beauty to styling there's a whole lot of Summer! My June favourites everyone...

Delilah Mini Lipstick - Faithful

At the end of June I attended a lovely friend's seventies themed birthday party (how fab right?) and for the first time in a while I got properly glammed up (I'm surprised I still remembered how to apply makeup!). I hadn't had a proper play around with my makeup in ages and it took me a little while to riffle through my collection to find some seventies appropriate picks but this Delilah lipstick in shade Faithful was just the perfect brown-y nude to finish off the look. I haven't been oblivious to notice, there's been a lot of seventies themed trends floating around recently and I must say, I absolutely love it! So maybe I might start cracking out this little seventies-esque lip number a little more often in the months ahead.

Elf Superhydrate Moisturizer

Now this was a product I could not wait to try and actually shared on my Instagram story a while back. My friend Laura got me this for my birthday and I've been excitedly anticipating the coming to the end of my current moisturizer so I could drive into this intriguing one. It's a gel! Okay not a ground breaking revelation I know but I was excitedly guessing whether it would your traditional cream or another formulation. My FAVOURITE thing about it though is that no matter how you scoop out your daily dose of moisturizer to slap on your face, somehow, the jelly consistency works its way back into the most perfect never-been-touched-before, dint-free, smooth condition! Seriously, the day after I first used it I had to second guess if I really did crack it open the day before! It's just so satisfying, haha! Aside from that, it does a lovely job at moisturizing seamlessly and absorbs like a dream, leaving a happily plump and velvety-non-greasy after effect to my skin. I've been really enjoying this very much non-greasy, yet fantastically moisturizing, facial moisturizer on the hot Summer days (I mean few and far between now I know) and I'd ONE HUNDRED percent recommend it to anyone who suffers with oily skin and even those on the not so oily side, who just want a facial moisturizer that's not going to leave them feeling like a grease ball in the hot Summer months.

Ku.tis Natural Deodorant - Lavender & Geranium

Another exciting find I had this June is a new natural deodorant. I was finding my faithful Fit Pit deodorant a little pricey at current, which rightly so as I appreciate they are a few more pennies than your average everyday deodorant you find in the supermarket because they come from excellent small businesses with good-stuff ingredients, but I also found it didn't seem to be working as effectively for me anymore. During prior months, due to the turn of events I discussed more in my April & May Favourites, I found myself just using up what I had and I actually ended up going back to my old Mitchun Powder Fresh Deodorant so I was fully expecting to go through that "detox-getting-used-to-more-natural-deodorants-oh-geez-I-smell phase" and manage the au natural shall we say. To my amazement however, I experienced none of that when I started using the Ku.tis deodorant! I was absolutely amazed; this has never happened to me before when I've switched from a usual store-bought deodorant to a natural deodorants. So that in it's self just blew me away with this Ku.tis deodorant. In addition, it actually worked really well too throughout the day and I felt pretty darn fresh smelling. Even more so too, it didn't leave an extra balmy-effect like some other natural deodorants I've used in the past and it was so fuss-free and easy being in little cardboard push-up style packaging. It also smelt pretty darn lovely too!

Aloe Pura Organic Aloe Vera Sun Lotion SPF 50

Now it wouldn't be fair to say Summer has been and gone without acknowledging the actual scorcher of of a heat wave we had back in June, although it did feel like I spent more of it in work than soaking up the sun! Nevertheless I definitely had a fair few good days in the sun and I've been slathering on the SPF at home this Summer more than ever! The Aloe Pura Sun Lotion is one I've been using for years now and swear by - it's the best sun lotion I've found! This Summer though it's been getting an extra bit of love from everyone. My friend Laura has been hooked on it since borrowing it when at mine and likewise, my mum never fails to go "ooo what's that lovely smell" when I put this on. Laura thinks it's the best thing since sliced bread and was just obsessed how not-sticky it leaves you and she loved it so much she's even got herself a bottle now too. It's such a good sun lotion for not leaving you feeling greasy and absorbing well and I always feel amply moisturized when I'm wearing it too. In quick top-ups as well it also works wonders on my face and doesn't cause me to break out! An acne prone person's dream. <3

Umberto Giannini Grow Long + Smooth Wonder Blow Dry Spray

A short while ago I was on the hunt for a new heat protectant spray as my OWAY Thermal Stress Protector I've stuck with for a little while was running near empty. As it had been so long since I'd tried another heat protectant I thought I shop around a bit this time and I came across the Umberto Giannini range. The Grow Long + Smooth Wonder Blow Dry Spray is from their growth range, which I wasn't to fussed about as I'm quite happy with my wee bob but there was a 3for2 offer on and I thought why not try a few different ones. So I picked up this and the Iron Out Heat Activated Straightening Balm. In June I found myself reaching for this, the spray Grow Long + Smooth heat protectant, on numerous occasions sporting a curly bob and I must say I was really impressed with the staying power of my curls when I used Wonder Blow Dry Spray! Likewise, I'd used it just after coming back home in May and doing my first blow dry and I was absolutely amazed how good it left my hair looking post blow dry. It literally looked as  though I'd been to the hairdressers! And that's coming from the queen of not-very-good-at-anything, especially blow drying my own hair so I can safely say it's good enough for even the most rubbish of self-hair-stylers, haha. As a nice little perk it also has the sweetest, daintiest scent of coconut and leaves my locks smelling like a little piƱa colada after use.

OWAY Thermal Stress Protector

After diving into my new Umberto Giannini heat protectants earlier this month because I just couldn't wait to try them I noted that I did have a little of my OWAY heat protectant left and amid all the excitement decided to use it up and finish the bottle. As noted above, I've really been enjoying wear my hair in curls these past few months and the day I used the OWAY Protector spray my curls lasted like no other! Whatever magic they put in the Thermal Stress Protector it gives an almost kind of light hairspray effect and hold to your style post-use and it really set my curls well into the next day, even having slept in them! I was uber impressed!

Summer dresses

Lastly, in the all out sunshine June brought us, I cracked out the little floral summery dresses like no one had seen them before. I've been absolutely living for wearing little and long summery, floral, playful, floaty dresses and I just absolutely love this Summer dress trend that has been around lately. From maxis to skater dresses I've been wearing gingham, florals, pastels and anything that could pass as a little bit cottagecore and I just feel like I've been living my best life in them.

...

Well there's a very summery June favourites and a lot of what I loved in June I've also been loving moreover in July but with a few added new additions. I've really been enjoying getting into my makeup and styling again this Summer and I've definitely found myself testing out a lot more new products, which isn't that just the ultimate fun for any beauty addict. I'd highly recommend each and every favourite in this post not just for Summer but any occasion (okay maybe not so much the Summer dresses but all else). So as you can see by the passing of the days I'm sure you can guess that my July monthly favourites won't not be far to follow and, as noted, I've been trying and loving lots of new things this July. Likely there may even be another likely beauty post coming in between, so keep you eyes peeled for more beauty food for thought to come here...

Till I ramble again,

Ellie Xx
